Automation Planning
Plan a safe, useful automation with clear triggers, data needs, exception handling, testing, and ownership.
About this course
Design an automation before choosing software. Map a repeatable process, define trigger and action rules, consider data and access, plan failures, test a small pilot, and assign ongoing ownership. You will create an automation specification; no coding or paid software is required.
This is a self-paced, text-based starter course with six lessons and guided exercises. Allow about 90 minutes for reading and initial practice; researching your own business may take longer. Bring one business, service, product, or community project to use throughout. Examples are illustrative, and the course does not promise commercial results.
What you will learn
- Identify a suitable repeatable process for automation.
- Specify triggers, conditions, actions, and duplicate handling.
- Plan data access and exception recovery.
- Create a pilot test plan and ownership checklist.
